Can Touchstone Pictures shift from Disney to Warner Bros?

As the growth of the Disney-brand already begin to materialised and following the defeat of the Vote Remain campaign of the EU Referendum due to the UK decided to exit the EU, I’ve been researched that; rather than as a catalogue label; Disney may sell Touchstone Pictures to Warner Bros due to the acquisitions of Marvel and Lucasfilm, plus the demise of Dimension Films in 2005 and Miramax Films in 2010 as Disney divisions.

I bet the CEO Kevin Tsujihara may interest at Disney’s last surviving mature label for 2017 rather than interested in James Bond. So, what can they do about it.

Here’s the question:

  • Disney may axed Touchstone Pictures after the release of The Light Between Oceans.
  • Disney CEO Bob Iger may greenlight the sale of Touchstone once MGM struck the deal with The Walt Disney Studios (through the Disney-brand).
  • Several studios may have an interest at buying Touchstone Pictures. Font-runners are Warner Bros and Lionsgate.
  • If Warner Bros buys it, Touchstone may become a solo distributor to replace New Line Cinema after nearly 50 years.
  • Disney may also complete the sale of Touchstone Pictures to Warner Brothers, like Mirmax Films in 2010 when they sold it to Filmyard Holdings.

Once again, what will happen to Touchstone Pictures after The Light Between Oceans released? Send your thoughts (even for celebrates and filmmakers if you want to post them to Twitter?).

UPDATE: If WB buys Touchstone, it will not include the pre-2016 library because it will still belongs to Disney; although Touchstone’s PG and PG-13 films may moving to Walt Disney Pictures while R-rated film will go into the possible reactive Buena Vista Pictures Distribution (as a reissue film production arm rather than replacing Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures as a distribution arm).

Why Do We Need A Martian War Story For #Bond25?

Bond 25 Poster Concept - The Great Martian War

Part 2 of the Bond 25 debate:

For many months of rumours about Bond 25 to have another terrorist story but it’s unlikely.

If Disney buys James Bond, how about a Martian War story for that. In fact; i’ve been watching the 2005 film ‘War of the Worlds’ many years ago that inspired my idea, beginning in 2013.

I’ll been sending you an finished original & unfinished revived scripts this week. In the meantime, here the Bond 25 statement i’ve made:

And that continues my Bond 25 debate.

Why Do We Need a Walt Disney Pictures “James Bond” Film?

Tonight for the first time on the eve of the announcement, part 1 of the Bond 25 Debate called ‘Why Do We Need a Walt Disney Pictures “James Bond” Film?’

On October 11th 2012, my theories is studded about Disney to buy James Bond without it’s competitors like Warner Brothers? And what become the successor of Sony as distributor since it’s 007 deal expired last year with the release of the previous instalment ‘Spectre’.

As i’ve found out that Disney may be a good home of the British film franchise rather than other film studio, including Warner Brothers, because it has been known for owning Marvel in 2009 and Lucasfilm in 2012 since it is the media empire for 93 years.

And of course that the future James Bond films, such as Bond 25, could be under the Walt Disney Pictures label (distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures) if Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer signs distribution deal with The Walt Disney Studios for foreseeable future. Reissues for the Bond films; among other libraries; may also arranged by Walt Disney Home Entertainment to replace MGM’s home video contact with Fox, in which is the home of the MGM’s home entertainment releases from 2006-2016. However, Warner Brothers will remain the pre-May 1986 titles from MGM; such as ‘The Wizard Of Oz’; until the very near future. It may also affected the British reissue distribution rights from Park Circus and it’s reissue rights could replaced by Walt Disney Home Entertainment (UK & Ireland), a division of The Walt Disney Company Ltd in the United Kingdom.

Not only because Disney is the world’s most powerful brand for the past 90 years. But it can also have a new era within the Bond 25 announcement on 20th June 2016 (or at a later date).

Disney and MGM may become partners again (instead of WB as reported) for the first time since ‘The Brothers Grimm’ (under the Dimension Films label) release on 26 August 2005.

Part 2, coming up, will be ‘Why Do We Need A Martian War Story For Bond 25?’

Getting misleading videos removed

Sitting slackjawed at the videos of Cwilliams1976

Tortured Television by cwilliams1976 CWilliams1976 ruins the history of UK television presentation

Over on the Facebook page, we’ve had a bit of a group think and have decided to have a day where we – fans of British television presentation and other epethemera – will mass report the misleading videos uploaded by CWilliams1976 on YouTube.

It’ll last for 24 hours, and is designed to make YouTube aware of the way Christopher Williams violates the YouTube Community Guidelines. We’re in our rights to do this, as he is clearly breaking these guidelines by using misleading text as the titles of many of his videos (if not all of them). Doing this will make YouTube better for everyone.

Naturally, CWilliams1976 can avoid this action if he correctly labels his mock videos as mocks. It’s a simple case of placing “(Mock)” in the title, so that YouTube users are not duped into thinking CWilliams1976’s appalling…

Before Disney’s bidding involvement, other studios did try to acquire MGM or #JamesBond?

On Wednesday 21st April 2004, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; the soon-to-be public company; have in-talks for a $5billion buy-out.

The talks were said to be at an advanced stage for a deal that could be worth up to $5bn (£2.8bn).

Buy-out firms including Texas Pacific Group have negotiating with billionaire financier Kirk Kerkorian to buy his 70%-plus stake, Reuters news agency said.

Talks were understandable to be taking place over how to finance any deal.

MGM, Sony, Texas Pacific Group, which may be partnered by Providence Equity Partners in any deal, declined to comment.

Shares in MGM ended up $2.10 at $19.75 on the New York Stock Exchange that day, after hitting a two-year high of $20.25.

Period to Disney’s involvement of the Bond bid in 2015; the bidding war for the major US film studio Metro Goldwyn Mayer was heated up with Time Warner stepping into the fray, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal and New York Times claim the world’s biggest media group had joined Sony in the battle.

But the Time Warner offer were said to be slightly less than the reported $5bn offered by Sony, at $4.7bn.

A deal would give the victor access to MGM’s film library, a key cash source as more movies are released on DVD.

Reports claim that Time Warner’s offer have made up of cash and shares, while Sony’s bid – which includes several public equity partners – was made up of cash and assumed debt.

MGM is looking to recoup debts of $2bn incurred after it paid shareholders a dividend of $8 per share in May.

Experts claim that MGM’s controlling shareholder Kirk Kerkorian may be more attracted to Time Warner’s offer as it would see him take a stake in the global media giant.

Any deal with Time Warner would also see MGM’s pre- and post-1948 movies reunited as Ted Turner’s Turner Broadcasting – owned by the media giant – bought up the rights to MGM’s pre-1948 films.

All parties involved in the bidding talks have declined to comment.

However, Time Warner is said to be in preliminary talks while Sony’s discussions are thought to be at an advanced stage. But reports claim Time Warner has said it believes Sony’s offer is too high.

MGM closed 5% higher at $12.66 on the reports, while Time Warner dipped 17 cents to $17.41 and Sony edged up 21 cents to $38.26.

Meanwhile another bidder could be waiting in the wings.

NBC-Universal may be poised to join the takeover battle, with the group reportedly signing a non-disclosure agreement in order to gain access to the studio’s books.

But Wall Street observers claim that NBC owner General Electric may find another acquisition tough to swallow after buying Universal Studio’s assets from Vivendi earlier in 2004.

In 2016; the bidding war of the James Bond distribution rights continues as Disney, WB and others gathered. If so that MGM may, again, has a distribution deal with Disney and to release Bond 25 under the Walt Disney Pictures banner.

MGM – the last remaining Hollywood studio – was founded in 1924 after a merger between Metro Pictures Corporation, Goldwyn Pictures, and Louis B Mayer Productions.

Its film classics include Gone With The Wind, Ben Hur, The Wizard Of Oz and Doctor Zhivago, as well as many musicals.

The company’s large movie library also includes the rights to James Bond films.

Bond 25 Diary (Part 2): Can this #Bond25 storyline to be different?

A remake of my original Part 1 content but this is Part 2 of Bond 25 Diary,

When i was on the website called MI6 Community via Forums. I was thinking about the plot for Bond 25 to be very different from the previous films.

I know this: Based on my own idea which began in 2013 and spent three years to make it come true but it will be soon as you can see.

Now here’s a very good treatment for Bond 25:

Set two years after the events of Spectre, the opening shot begins with a gunbarrel and we can see Daniel Craig in the shot. The pre-titles begins with the outer space shot and the camera is heading towards our home planet Earth. The narration, in the background, said: “No one would’ve believe in the new years of the 21st century, the human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed we being scrutinised as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets. And yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded with envious eyes; and slowly and surely, they drawn their plan against us”

The music begins with a remake version of a Medieval II Total War music Duke of Death based on the original 2006 version:

As we see an exterior shot of Bond, in the DB5, being chased by the group of terrorist while Madeleine and the Armed Forces to rescue civilians from the group of terrorist. Bond shoots the enemy driver and explodes in the heart of Atlanta. He calls for backup to finish off the terrorist down. Blofeld becomes an ally of his original friend and rescuing Bond from the group of men. MI6 deserves victory, until the strange horn appeared. So what’s is that strange horn; Could it be a Martian War or it’s just a hoax?

Another title sequence by Daniel Kleinman.

An interior shot of an MI6 office in London shows a pile of newspapers reads “MI6 charged for involving in terror war”. M have been upset about the MI6 charged with being involved in a terror war in Atlanta and reveals a strange horn from the other day. Bond asked M that he considered about a new war, but it’s not World War III, as he claims the rumours of the existence of the Martian War. But M disagreed with Bond that it isn’t real. Bond leaves the office and M discovered, in personal, that it was a real war that existed as he unveils it from the archives and saws the old footage of a war for the first time ever.

On Mars, we can see the shot of the Martian general named Karken; a son of his father Julian; enters the War Council of Mars and speaks about the human race and suggesting another Martian War. the Martians agreed with the end of the human race and Karken reveals his new enemy of Commander James Bond 007. His father Julian enters the council and agreed with the Martians and his son that their will be another war but to kill Agent Bond as well.

Back on Earth, an exterior shot of the House of Commons saw Bond talking to the MP named Harriet Jones about a future war that expected to be happen soon. Meanwhile on Hyde Park, Madeleine has a view of the city of London and meets the American agent Felix Leiter; a former CIA agent who was sacked by the Central Intelligence Agency and become involved with the FBI.

In the interior shot of the MI6 office, M have in-talks with the United Taskforce (UNIT) to take on the alien race to be invaded on Earth for the night; He and the UNIT agreed to destroy the Martian race. In the army camp, we see the army preparing for war and blocked some of the roads off in order to build their own wall.

Back on Mars, that night, we see the Martian army are ready for war and Julian taking his son Karken to a warships in order to invade the planet and destroy the human race. Thousands of Martian Warships takes off from Mars and heading towards Earth.

In London, Bond was sitting on a chair in the rooftops of the MI6 office. But then, he saw a light in which means the war has begun. Bond rushes to the office and warns M that the start of the Martian War. M looks up at the window and sends his colleagues out of the office, Moneypenny tells M what’s going on?

Few of the Martian Warships flies towards Westminster and began to fire at the UNIT army. Blofeld and Felix join forces to take down the alien army but he has an idea: Blofeld will kill off some of the Martian army by a rocket launcher while Felix gundowned the Warships using the Tommy gun.

The first of the Martian Warships landed in the parks of London and we see Karken (with his father Julian) along with his army gets out of a Warships. Karken saws Madeleine and Moneypenny runs towards the abandon building, but he with his army is getting after them. Meanwhile, Bond and M enters the BD5 and drives off into the London district of Soho but the Martians surround them. It was Karken’s father Julian who sets a plan to block them off. Bond and M exits the car and Julian has a word with Bond. Bond kicks Julian and killed his soldiers. M quickly handcuffs Julian and has been executed. On Hyde Park, Madeleine and Moneypenny was trapped by Karken and his army. Just then, Blofeld and Felix told them to stay away but Karken disagreed. They decided to kill his soldiers first and knocks Karken out unconscious.

Elsewhere, Bond and M, in the DB5, drives to rescue Madeleine and Moneypenny but although Blofeld and Felix have already rescued them. Bond quickly changed his mind that Blofeld calls him that he will be ready for Karken’s execution. Bond and M arrived at the ruins of the MI6 headquarters where Blofeld, Felix, Q, Madeleine and Moneypenny have already there. Karken, with his handcuffs, gives Bond his last words. Bond executed him and the Martian have halted the war between the human race and their own race because their general died. They decided to kill the MI6 team instead and Bond and his team are ready for a final round. In slow motion, we see Bond and his friends battling the Martians alongside with the UNIT. Bond with his friends deserves victory and the city of London returns to normal.

The very good ending scene is in Buckingham Palace, the Queen (played by herself) knighted James Bond (becoming Sir James Bond) and Gareth Mallory (becoming Sir Gareth Mallory) for achieving the war against the Martian race. Q congratulates Bond and M for the award. Madeleine has decided to return to her home country and said goodbye to James Bond and his friends. Bond asked M about another terrorist organisation has been formed called GRINDER (General Revenge in Non-Dimension Entertaining Rights). The camera pulls away from the Buckingham Palace and the caption reads “James Bond will return” and the credits played.

EON and MGM will love it for that one.

We’ll keeping it in form for Part 3. This time, Tom Hiddleston in-talks to play 007 for Bond 25.
